Too Sick For School?

If you are like most parents, you have often wondered if you should send your child to school when complaint of illness comes up. Here are some guidelines that might help.

  • Diarrhea, vomiting or fever above 100.0 F within the past 24 hours
  • Drainage or crust in the eye with redness
  • Sore throat with fever of swollen glands
  • Any rash of unknown cause, head or body lice
  • Unusual, unexplained fatigue, paleness, confusion or irritability

Please remember: if your child is sent home with a fever, keep them home until they have been fever free for 24 hours without the use of drugs like Tylenol or Motrin which artificially lower fevers

Flu Season Is Here

Flu season is in full swing and we all are at some risk. Here are some hints to help prevent the spread of disease.

·         Wash hands frequently.

·         Cough/sneeze into your elbow rather than your hands

·         Stay home and away from others if you have the flu. Do not share eating and drinking utensils

·         Get the flu vaccine

Please check with the nurse to see if your child’s emergency information is up to date! We have many children who have outdated or missing emergency information.
